Need HELP---03 Ram 3500 Wiring?????

I'm installing a remote start on my truck and I need to know which wire on the back of the instrument cluster goes to the "Wait to Start" light, suppose to need it to delay the remote starter.

Not getting any good help from the tech people or from my dealer, their saying that the serv. manuals don't give wire colors???? I find that hard to believe.

Thanks for any help you can share.

do you need 12v or ground signal for the "wait" feature?

the wiat to start is requested via BUS comunication from pcm to cluster then the cluster turns the light on which is a LED which is not 12 volt so it will not give you the signal you need. (no wire either thats why the dealer could't give you a scematic)

the heater grid should give your the 12v signal you need to tell the remote start to "wait"

if the remote start requires a ground signal to "wait" then use a relay to convert the 12v heater grid circuit to ground.

Thanks Jeepflexin, that the most info I've got in 2 weeks. The only problem I have now is that on the 2003 they got rid of the PCM, everything routes through the ECM, now the dealer did tell me the same thing about hooking to the relays from the heater grid, but they aren't where he told me they should be either, he said they would be next to the driver side batt. The only thing over there is the PDC (fuses) and the ABS controller.

Are you familiar with the newer Cummins? Do the heater grid wires come out the driver side if so then where do the go?

Thanks Again

Trublu, sorry it took me so long to get back with you , i only get on here every few weeks BUT you should be able to tap right into the intake heater grid at the intake . there should be 2 big old wires bolted to the top of your intake ,test for 12 volts there while the wait to start light is on, it should have zero volts when wait to start light is off. should be the easiest spot to hook into, my scematic for location of the relay is confusing it says its near one of the front batteries but does not specify which one but i see no reason you cannot tap into thegris right at the intake. let me know how you made out.
