More Trouble!
So yesterday I said I wasnt getting fuel to my engine and it would not start. Well granddaddy said always start with the easiest first. So the crankshaft posistion sensor was bad so we tried replacing it but now were stuck, because the sensor is stuck in the block and we've tried and tried to pull and twist it out. So now we have the starter off and and a severly chewed up sensor. This thing is bad enough now that we can barely get vise grips on it. I have a couple ideas how we might be able to get it out but I figured this would be the place to ask since everyone has basically the same engine. If this has happened to you I'd really appreciate any advice. Hopefully after I install the new sensor it fires up but if not I'll have to start working on the fuel system.
Katmandu,
I went to school at University of Northwestern Ohio for auto diesel tech in Lima, Ohio. So I know exactly where youre at and Vandalia is. Its a shame what happened to that girl, he put a big black eye in the Marine Corps, and now we have churches protesting us for what one Marine did.

Those crazy [admin edit] from that Kansas Baptist Church HATE group are coming to spread their hatred tomorrow. A LOT of folks here are going to go and block them from interfering in her funeral. Probably will make CNN tomorrow.
How about drilling it out ?
Mine is on the front of eng.
I have had things not come out , use a big enough drill bit to get a hack saw blade [ some times with smaller items , I would use a sharp chisel to make the end of the hack saw blade narrow enough to fit into a smaller hole ] then saw from the hole to the out side edge , but stop just before it touches the mounting surface , then crack pieces out with hammer & chisel .

Well I made the decision for my dad to come down with the trailer and pick me up. Id feel better getting it to the farm and tearing into it than me sitting out in the barracks parking lot getting soaked. Because even if i get that piece in, the truck still might not run. I really just want to get home as quickly as possible. Ive missed the last three christmas's and just about everything else in that time, and I cant wait to spend time with my family. Thanks for all the help yall, sure appreciate it. This trip home is going to be a long one lol, daddys gonna tow my truck with an 06 powerstroke..................

I just had mine changed he soaked it with P Blaster several times and left it and worked on another project. Like you he twisted and mine finally came out. He reported that he had broken them off almost smooth before and used a drill and took it out in pieces. He said our blocks don't get as hot as gassers and gunk builds up around that o ring and makes it difficult to remove.
The good news is it runs great after replacment at the 40.00 part.
