In The Middle Of A Rotor / Pad Change

My question is... how do i get the rotar off?
I have the brake caliper and pads off but the rotor doesnt want to budge.

Is it the BIG center bolt in the middle of the axle?
Anyone know what size that bolt is...if thats it.

On your year truck you won't need to take off the big nut. I changed my front rotors and pads out about 3 months ago and had the same problem. I took a can of brake cleaner and sprayed it from the backside. You have corrosion built up in there. You need to break that bond to get the rotor off. It took some time with the cleaner but after about 1 hour they finally started to come loose. Good Luck.

if you have a propane torch ,a little heat should do the trick. just make sure you heat it evenly to keep it from warping if you are going to reuse it

I guess the 24 valves are different than the 12 valves. I had to pull the axle retaining nut, and the hub to get the rotor off...what a PITA. You should be able to just pull the caliper and slide the pads off, but post a pic and one of us can probably help.

Just remove the two #47 torx bolts and that will let the calipers come off. Then it goes back the same is it came apart.

well i got the front rotors and pads changed

i started on the back and broke the 13mm bolt inside the bracket.
I wasnt even turning it that hard. where can I get the outer bracket...not the one with the piston but the one you slide the pad into?

i dont really want to run it with one bolt.
