mech, fuel pump

mech, fuel pump

i put a new pump in, now when my truck sits for a long period of time it does not get fuel until i prime it a few times,maybe an air lock,or an injector pump,i drained the battery trying to get it going ,could this be an injector pump is gone,1993 cummins

Sounds to me like you have an air leak in the fuel system.
Many times leaks can suck air but not leak fuel.

x2. You can check for a leak in the suction side of the fuel system by lightly pressurizing the fuel tank, those little leaks that are sucking air will start dripping fuel.
