Angry MAP Sensor Bad? I have NO BOOST!

This is regarding my 981/2 Ram 2500 24V Turbo diesel. I got gas this afternoon and pulled out of the gas station only to have my truck immediately start acting funny. I went to merge into traffic and the truck jerked a few times and then I lost all accelerating power. I could here my turbo, but there was absolutely no boost, a complete dog. Then my check engine light came on! I thought I just got bad fuel, but I pulled the codes and got a couple different things. A p0237 (turbo boost sensor low, map sensor low) and a p0216 (Injection timing control circuit malfunction) I got home and checked everything but found nothing visually wrong. I tried to erase the codes just to see, and within seconds the MAP codes came right back with map sensor voltages low and high before even starting the truck. What the heck is wrong with my truck now? Anybody have these issues? Runs and idles fine, No boost, No acceleration, boost sensor codes all the time, cant drive the truck, because without turbo its a dog. PLEASE help me out, I just fixed this truck and now this! I am going broke and crazy!

NO Boost

Have you checked the boost hoses from the intercooler? There is one on the lower right that sometimes gets a hole rubbed in it from a radiator or AC clamp.

Do you have a power box on the truck that connects to the MAP??? if you do try unpluging the box from the MAP sensor... Not sure on the color wires on the MAP.. but you have 3 wires.. one 5V power, one ground.. one signal wire going back to the ECM.. make sure when the connector is plugged in that you are getting voltage back on the signal wire.. (even with the engine off and the key on you should get some voltage...)
This should get you started in a direction..

1.0216= your vp is possibly dying, sorry.
2.No boost. I would say u have a hole in the vacumme actuator for the wastegate.

I had the 0216 code last fall but vp has not failed yet. In 99 I had the vp fail and a hole in vacumme actuator for the wastegate at the same time and truck was undriveable. Fixed the vp and truck was still a dog. Found the hole and plugged off wastegate and all was good. Basically wastegate was stuck open.

Get a 1/4" npt plug and put it on the turbo where the vac lines comes from and see if that helps. You can also use a vacumme gauge tester thing and pull or push (can't remember) 18-21 psi on the acuator and see if it drops pressure.

map?

Ok thanks guys, I'll check into those ideas. I really hope it's something as simple as a hole in a hose. Honestly with as many problems that this truck is having lately I don't know If I can afford to hang on to it. Seems like every time I turn around something else goes wrong. I maintenance it, care about it, and do everything possible to keep it happy it, and in return it just keeps on creating problems. Well if anybody else has any ideas of what can be wrong please enlighten me as this is how I'm spending my weekend. no fun. JK
