Here it is in a nutshell. Lost the waterpump, threw the belt, trashed the fan blade and fan clutch wiring harness.

I have had too many problems with the 2003 style that routes the fan clutch wires through the fan shroud. I want to convert to the two piece fan shroud like a 2005 and up, along with that, I should be able to mount the new style fan clutch and it will have brackets that keep the fan clutch wires out of the fan blade.


Here is my problem... I cannot find the part numbers for the following brackets.
One dealer tells me all these brackets come with a new fan clutch, but I have a hard time believing that, and they don't have a clutch in stock in order to verify. Used truck parts places have not had any in stock that I have found....now I am trying to figure out the part number so that I can order them if need be.

 

It has been a few years since I installed one but it seems to me I remember them coming with everything attached to the wiring.The next issue is will the ecm like the diferent model fan??

 

Problem solved...sort of. I had to modify the bottom bracket, by welding some additional flat bar and drilling it, so that it would match up the the existing bolt holes in my block.

Truck is back on the road, and I put about 250 miles on it this weekend with no ill effects.
