Lift pump strokes at startup
I've noticed several times lately that when turning key to wait to start position the lift pump strokes. I haven't noticed this before and was wondering if it was normal. I checked for leakage around the fuel filter and see no leaks on garage floor. Thanks in advance for any replies and comments.

when you turn the key on the lift pump will run for 5 seconds ............... if you got a pressure gauge you should see the pressure go up momentarily
if you just bump the starter the pump will run for 30 seconds (good way to refill the fuel filter after a change)
