Lift Pump Pig tail harness

I found a lift pump around town here for $150.00 but it doesn't come with the updated pigtail.

Called the dodge dealer and they said they don't sell it seperate, and they want $290.00 for the LP

does anyone know where I can get one, or has a picture of it so I can some how make this work?

Pics would be great.

Thanks

Wade

I don't have a lift pump.
In fact, I don't even have a truck right now.

The nearest cummins outlet is 2 1/2 hours away. I bought my lift pump from a Freightliner dealer, but they don't have the pigtails.

Shovelhead, do you have the part number?

Nope, sorry I don't remember the number (that was 2 years ago).

Try plugging your info in here and see if there's a closer supplier that carries Cummins parts.

I did, I seen the link from one of your other posts.

Do you happen to know where a pic of these new LP's are?

I might have to create somthing temporary until I can get the pigtail.

My wife is leaving out of town so if I don't do something, I will be with out wheels.

And I'm not willing to drive the truck with the weak LP.

Call Chase at West Texas Turbo Diesel and see if he can over night you one. I just got LP and pigtail from him.

Found something that would work. The original harness!

If you pull about a 1/2" of the full harness there is enough to plug it into the the LP.

So where or who should I go/call to get a new lift pump ???? (2001, 2500 HO, 6 speed)

Are they making them better than they were before ???

Or should I go to an aftermarket version ????

What prices are we looking at ??

I bought mine at a Freightliner truck shop, since there isn't a cummins outlet anywhere around here.

The dealer wasn't an option for me.

Are they better, I don't have personal experience with them since this is my first one I have replaced, but from what I have read, unless you go to a FASS, they are still one of the best pumps out there.

I will be increasing my fuel line size to help it out.

Prices are above in my first post $150.00

Dealer $290.00

Easy to change out

I just ordered this stuff today for a friend of mine. Here are the Cummins part numbers.
Lift Pump-----------------------3990105----------$15?.??
Pigtail---------------------------4025182-----------$7.??
Sealing Washers---------------3963988-----------$2.07 ea. You need two packs.
Go to Cummins web site and find the nearest dealer. I called the one close to me and had them ship it to me. Got it in two days.
Hope this helps.

They are the little rubberized washers that are on both sides of the banjo fitting. Because the LP is a pain to get to, I would replace them. You can get by sometimes reusing the old ones. I would only do this in a pinch. They are cheap and why do all that work just to have to go back and replace them because of a leak.
And for you guys that have never done this, forget the 18lb torque (I think that is what the book calls for). Just snug them down don’t over tighten them unless you want to be back here on the help site asking how to remove a broken bolt in your lift pump. It has happened.
Good Luck
