Lift pump or elect. problem?

Lift pump, filter & VP44 replaced in May,'07. Press. switch, press. taps and warning LED installed. Filter replaced again Nov. '07 after warning light came on and filter press. drop checked. OK for several weeks. Warning light coming on again intermittently. Filter press. drop still OK, maybe 0-2 psid. Can be OK for several days or weeks. Verified loss of pressure (pre-filter) causing light to come on. Have not determined if voltage to lift pump being lost of if pump just not pumping.(factory type replacement pump). Shut engine off for several minutes when light comes on. Bump key and can hear pump run, warning light off, restart engine and go til next time light comes on. Any one out there who has experienced this problem or may have a clue? Lift pump still under warranty.

I am kind of having the same issues. Truck will start great when cold, but if i stop it for an hour or so, it sometimes will not start, no pressure on fuel gauge. If i bump the key the pressure goes up to 14 than stops buzzing and drops to zero. I was thinking of running a wire direct to the electric pump from the battery with a toggle switch. This would also act as a burglar deterrent.

Although no starting problems, both batteries load tested weak, esp. driver side.
Replaced both batteries and warranted lift pump. Not enough run time yet to see if intermittent fuel press. prob. gone.
