Lift Kit Help
Lift Kit Help
I so far have tried to conquer the feat of a superlift 6in w/ 2in spacer. I ran into a few problems though. My droparm that attaches to the pitman arm hits when I try to reattach it to the pitman arm. It makes contact at the passenger side sway bar bracket on the axle. WHY?? Also the axle is obivously not centered in the truck. The drivers wheel sticks out a 1in or so to the left. Are my arms installed wrong? Are they side specific? I have the welded id tags facing in, is that correct? There was no mention to which side is which. Also the truck doesnt sit level? The drivers side is higher.

They are pretty simple to install, but I have never done one with the additional 2" spacer. I am not sure the replacement track bar bracket that comes with the kit allows the track bar to hang down far enough to keep from binding and pushing the front end to one side. That would make it droop on the tight side and hang out on the loose side.
My recommendation is to go back to the instructions and walk through and check off each of the installation steps. And, toss the 2" extension until you have it setting correctly, then call Superlift and ask them if it is compatible.
You did install the Superlift pitman arm # 01-4007, that came with the lift kit? If not it will never fit, as you must use the dropped arm to clear. When you do this it will also be necessary to go to someone that makes the steering shaft stabilizer and buy and install one of those or you will knock the bearing out of the shaft to which the pitman arm bolts in just a few miles. Or, never drive it off the pavement!
