Lack of Power, Smoke, No Codes?

I just started having problems with ol reliable. Starts fine, but doesn't seem to spool up like it should. Runs good to 30 then dogs down. I removed the silencer ring, but now I don't hear anything "whinning". Now there is alittle more black smoke when before there was none, leading me to believe its not spooling up, or the boost thingy is not working. (I don't have a boost gauge, sorry.) Just seems to lack the power it did before. NO CODES. But the IP (I think its the IP) seems to "chatter" a bit at WOT.

Any ideas?

Check your intercooler boots.

Make sure one or more hasn't slipped off, or had a small hole wore through.

Check the turbo itself to make sure the blades spin freely without too much play.

That's the free/easy thing to check first.
If nothing seems amiss, then we start getting into the not free/not easy things.

It was the innercooler boot! It had slipped off somehow.

If it seemed really easy to slip back on, it might be time for new ones.

Glad to help
