Its knocking???
This is my first Cummins and 3rd Diesel...but it knocks when it starts cold for about 10 knocks...then it quiets down..is that a problem?? ??? ???

Sounds normal to me. You should hear a pre-03.... :
You can hear the fuel pump buzzing when it's really cold. Have you tried the block heater for a few hours on cold nights?

it was -40 this morning, windchills were in the -50's.......truck was plugged in but man did she knock for a bit till it warmed up <br><br>my dad's had diesel cars/trucks/tractors all my life and they all knock like an SOB untill they warm up enough to run smooth when it's real cold out ..........

I never had a problem with knocking. But I keep my truck in a wark places with the block heater on.<br>But I say it is the cold. Just let her warm up for awhile before driving anyware.
