installing a FP guage

well i was gathering all the parts to install my mechanical fp guage today. When it came down to the needle valve i couldn't find one. Went every were. The people knew what i was talking about but didn't have it. Can i use a ball valve or does anyone have any suggestions?

....try your Yellow pages, I found mine at a plumbing supply house - call them first and tell them what you are needing one for, they should be able to hook you up;

Cant use a ball valve....u need a needle valve to dampen the pulses.

....just about any valve will do, one with a locking or set screw would be best....

Draw up a diagram of what you need - valve (where it splices into the fuel line), step-down connector to the line going to the gauge, connector to the gauge...and take it to your plumbing supply house - they can fix you up.

Note: Use thread dope, NOT tape, while some have been successful with the tape, there are also Bad Things that can happen if you get pieces in the fuel stream....
