injectors

can anyone explain how to find a bad injector.at the dealership they capped the lines or something and figured it out.is there a way for this broke bastard to figure it out myself instead of taking it to the dealer.

make a cap out of an old injector line in order to check each injector

where do you put the cap on?where it comes out of the rail.i dont mean to sound stupid but i hall freight with my gooseneck and i dont want to screw up the truck.no truck no paycheck

a high quality scan tool can perform an injector kill test which is usually enough to find a dead inj. leaking is a lot tougher to isolate & may require capping, which is done at the rail

You can also use temp probe on exhaust the coolest one is the missing cylinder. If you have access to a DRB it has test function for injectors % of contribution and injector kill function. Capping injectors at the rail takes a long time and you have to remove the line, don't ever try to bend these lines or you will be buying a new one.
