You will need to fill in your signature a little more. Auto or manual tranny? I would jack up the rear and see if there is any play. I assume you have an automatic and the problem is something in the tranny. Inside there is beyond my expertise, at least I gave you a bump.

I agree, check rear diff for play in gears and Trac-Rite for excessive play. I have seen the thrust washers going out in Trac-Rite and causing excessive play in gears. If you can rotate your rear wheels more then 15-20 degrees before you take up gear backlash then you have too much play in the Trac-Rite gears. I have seen some that rotate up to 180 degrees before backlash play is taking out of gears. The Trac-Rite is serviced as an assembly. I'm assuming you have 11 1/2 AA w/Trac-rite
i dont know about the AA/trac-rite but its all stock on the rear end. i guess ill put it on the lift this weekend and see if there is any or how much play there is.. in the rear...
thank you. bigiron70
any more ideas would be good

Yea, the first thing I would do is get the back tires off the ground, and see just where the play is. Thing is, most vehicles have some play, if you really try hard and throttle on/throttle off. There are a lot of moving parts, and a little wear/play here and there adds up. Some play is acceptable. The question is how much, and where from.
