How do you remove the IAT sensor?

Swear-to-God, I've layed on top of the engine, wiggled up from under the engine, removed the valve cover, and even removed the shock, shock tower and tried to go in through the side, and I can't get anywhere near the d*** thing. Can't even take the wire plug off, the retainer's on the firewall side. Too much plumbing in the way.

A tool? Small arms, should I stop lifting weights? Take out the ABS, cabling, etc? Just to clean off a little soot? Aaaargh!

I am 5' 10" and I weigh just over 210. I aint the smallest or the biggest but I am used to getting into tight spaces. The Navy almost always put stuff in hard toe reach places. Anyway, I grabbed a deep socket with a 6 inch extension. Reached around and behind the dip stick tube. Got the connector removed and placed just the socket with extension over IAT. Then put the ratchet on and started it to loosening. Pulled the ratchet off and fingered it the rest of the way. Reversed the procedure to get it back in. My truck is a 2001 4x2, and I don't remember what yours was. If all else fails, get the wife to get the connector off and put the socket/extension in place. If you still don't get it. Greese your forearms up and push!

Before pushing, don't forget to take off any rings and your watch. Easy to forget these things and then get hung up trying to remove your arm. Not that I would know anything about this. :

Its NOT easy is it? I have a 4X4 and practically have to lay on top of the valve cover. If your having a hard time getting it unplugged....well, I'll just say good luck....
