Hose From Transfer Pump to Fuel Heater Leaking

It looks like the short piece of rubber hose that connects those two is cracked and seeping fuel. Any one know off hand what size fuel line I need and if I can run a regular gasoline one until I can get a proper diesel hose? I need to fix it tonight so I can drive the truck to work tomorrow.

I think it is 1/2 inch. Gasser hose should be OK, for a while. But you should really get the proper hose. You can get them at the Dodge dealer for less than $5. For some reason the Cummins dealers don't want to sell them, even though its a Cummins part. I think this is the part number: Mopar 04746638. Good luck.

Thanks. I was lucky enough to find it at a local Napa store. It's gas hose but it'll do for now. Thanks for the part number, I'll have to order one tomorrow. Unfortunately it appears that its not leaking from that hose but rather from the fitting on the bottom of the fuel filter. I was going to buy one while I was at Napa but I totally forgot . Luckily I can hi-jack the wife's car tomorrow.

Thanks Again.

Sounds like you have it under control, but if the leak is in the big fuel filter on top, then it is probably in the Water-in-fuel sensor, which you can buy separately from Cummins (Fleetguard 3831852-S) for about $25. If your pre-filter is leaking, near the lift pump, then there is a kit which has all the o-rings and the strainer, available from Cummins (Fleetguard 3845400-S) for about $6.

I picked up a Fleetguard filter today with the fitting built into the bottom and the leak is gone. I tried to order that pre-filter repair kit (3845400-S) while I was at the Cummins dealer but they don't have that part number on record so I'm kind of over a barrel now since I've got a lift pump and OFV coming from Marty at Precision Diesel as well as a new fuel heater and harness from the Cummins dealer but I can't replace the screen and O-rings while I'm in there. I'm going to post over in the proper forum to see what the story is with that not being a good number since I know a lot of people have used it.

Thanks.
