Truck is in the shop right now with the transmission pulled replacing the clutch. Shop called and said the flywheel needs to be replaced as well because it's beyond being turned (some sort of cracks or something). Said the only place he could find a flywheel was from Dodge and it's 800.00! Has anyone had to replace their flywheel? Does this sound right? Anyone know where to get one cheaper??? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks ahead of time.

Well, guess they are harder to find that I would have thought since no one on here knew right away! Ended up finding a used flywheel for 200.00. Got hooked up with friend of mine's friend who runs the parts dept at a local dealership - said he'd cut me a deal on a new one for 550.00 if I need it. The list is 849.00 . . . only a 300.00+ (he's not giving it to me at cost) mark-up. Sure makes me feel good about all of the parts you have to buy for these trucks. I'm thinking about just wrecking my truck, collecting insurance and then talking my insurance man into letting me keep the truck. Chances are I could part the thing out and retire on the proceeds
