Headlights turning off while driving..

Headlights turning off while driving..

When im driving my headlights will turn on and off on there own..then they will work fine for a while.. I dont have a clue what is causing this.....Thank you for the help..

i cant remember what year model but i believe their was a tsb about the headlight switch i think but it also maybe a short some where

Mine did that and only the high beams would work. It was the purple wire in the steering column, it would come unplugged, check that wire. It was caused from tilting the steering wheel.

I had a problem with the connector that plugged into the headlight switch. It got hot and melted part of it, it would come loose and make a bad connection when the truck it a bump.

my 98 did that, they would flash off/on at random times, and worse the longer they were on. the switch has a built in circuit breaker that can become weak causing the breaker to open/close. i replaced my switch. the connectors-pins were ok and the problem is gone now

So far the switch did the trick but I haven't drove it at night very far yet..so I hope that was all it was...Thanks for all off the help.....
