headlight delay!!

couple of years ago i disconnected the "daytime" running lights module...i just didnt like it....so ever since ive been turning lights on manually...one pull for the clearance lights and the 2nd pull for the headlights....familiar?......anyhowthis year since it started to get cold...i'll turn on the motor....one pull...and the clearance lights come on...2nd pull and nothing comes on...when the truck warms up a bit 3-4 min they flick on....whats going on??....where is my bad contact?

Try giving the dimmer switch a good shake while the problem is occurring, and switch high to low beam several times. It's quite common for the multifunction switch to fail this way, but it usually happens while you are operating the switch- the lights will go out instead of dimming.

Other than that, the next place to look is the headlight switch. They are cheap enough that you might as well throw a new one at it, and have a good look at the connector for signs of overheating.

By the way, is your headlight wiring stock? You haven't installed a relay kit or anything?
