Hard shifting NV4500

Just drove home from maine to RI in the sunday snow storm. Thats when my 5speed stated to act up. I did drive threw a really big snow bank, snow could have got anywhere under the frame, and drove thought a small lake on the road, so water could have got any where to. Some times she shift fine, then one second later I can get it into any gears. My Haynes book said clutch not releasing completely(see clutch adjustment) but there is not one in the book or loose, damaged or out of adjustment shift linkage. Inspected and replace parts as necessary. Any help guys would be great

I would park it in a heated shop for a day and then roadtest again.

Unless you completely sunk it at the bottom of a lake, I don't think driving thru a big puddle will affect your tranny or clutch, since they are sealed. If something is going bad, its probably a coincidence.

I would say if it doesnt get better, it sound like a master or slave cylinder is getting weak.

Pilot bearing problem is a common possibility too. If it starts to seize, it will tend to keep the input shaft spinning whether the clutch is engaged or not.

Leading up to this trip and time before, right around 2000 rpms, when the turbo is going, if I mash on the petal she would slip, rpms go up but no increase in speed, could this be related, any tests to do, any linkages to check, fluids,

thanks

Clutch problems

if anything have someone work the clutch while you are watching from the bottom. Could be a failing slave cylinder.

That's right at the top of the list of possibilities.

If you pump the clutch 10-15 times quickly thru full stroke you might see some leakage at one cylinder or the other but it is most likely internal.
