Last week on ym way home my trucxk was running fine as usual and then at a stop light the rpm's started bumping all over and the check CIL came on..I pulled into a lot and shut her down..checked under the hood all looked fine restarted irt and it wads fine..till yesterday..then it really messed up...0 rpms' truck was still running and eratic idle..cleared up but CIL stayed on...any ideas?

 

What codes do you have?

 

1693...only code I ever get...CL light still on but idle issues seems to be not happening anymore....is there a way to clear the CL issue on my own or do I have to go to the dealer?

 

Ive had similar problems with our 02 at work. Same code too. I was told it was a cummins code and had to be read by a cummins shop. I also get 0215 code also. It can be cleared, But that wont get rid of the problem/symptoms, just gets rid of the notification that something is wrong. Not sure that you can clear that code, as it is in the cummins computer.
