fuel pressure problem with vulcan kit

I installed a vulcan big line kit with the relocated stock style L/P. It always had 10 psi at idle and 7-8 while driving. Its only 2 months old and the pressure goes to zero after initial prime when starting.it will also will jump to 10 psi the back to 0. I checked the pump it is running. is their a check vale the could be stuck or the carter pump just bit the dust ?

Might want to confirm your gauge is functioning correctly.

Do you have an isolator? Is the gauge working correctly? I had initial weird readings after disconnecting my Geno's schraeder hose until I figured out it wouldn't work right without the schraeder valve. Drilled out the hose, and instant accurate readings now. I wouldn't think the pump bit the dust if you got it restarted after the install.

I checked the isolator it seems fine. I get pressure at the isolator for about 30-40 seconds then nothing. the truck starts right up,runs fine.the pump is running but the pressure goes on and off sporadically.

My HP4601 Carter lift pump pretty much did the same thing. You could hear the pump running but there was little or no psi. After I removed the pump I tore it apart. It turns out that there was some plastic part that was used to attach the pump rotor vane to the electric motor shaft and the plastic had disintegrated. Nice design, huh?
