Fuel Pressure on 99

My Juice just started beeping at me because the PSI was down to 1, I can bump the key and the lift pump will cycle, I was just wondering if the lift pump is gone, I do have a mechanical gauge to hook up to it, I'm also wondering if the sender unit for the Juice is bad. I have been running the Juice untapped and have not been ******* it. Thanks

Thanks for all the help.......lift pump isn't putting any pressure out. They are coming to get it tonight and install one of those tank jobs under warranty. But I'm going to make sure I get all the old stuff back.

Tell them to stick that in the tank pump well you know anywhere but in your truck. Cut the steel line just in front of the tank put in your choice of aftermaket pump with a larger line feeding up to your vp-44 and GET THAT PRESSURE GAUGE INSTALLED. The walbro 392 pump would be a good choice.

Which is better for future repairs if/when the next pump quits climb under and bolt one onto the frame or drop the tank (yes it will only happen when it is full) or lift the box. The aftermarket pumps put out much better volume which is what you want = much better than the in the tank deal and it will cost you a lot less cash.

I planned of putting a FASS on it this summer. I don't want the in tank pump but I still got warranty left. $100 bucks vs $600 because I don't have that money to blow right this minute. Yeah I know, truck is full right now. I plan to keep the old stuff.

Good deal with the warranty, Adam!

Don't worry about the in-tank lift pump, it's just fine. Failure rate is pretty low, and as a "pusher" it works better than the ones mounted on the fuel filter housing that "sucked".

You can still add your aftermarket lift pump when you're ready...

You could do the walbro pump and lines for $300 easy and be done with it. I put a carter 4601hp pump, gauge, and lines on mine 2 years ago my total cost was less than $150 and it is still working good today.

Did you remove the juice some dealers will VOID the warrantee with a fueling box

I hope this is a good dealer and he does not create other problems for you by letting some hack mess with your truck. Let us know the outcome and your fuel pressure under load.

Now it is starting to fit together how you got such a nice low mile truck and a warranty to go along with it. Just don't tell me what you payed for it. Have fun and take care of it mine is past the 200k mark still all original engine and turbo never been opened up other than for valve adjusments.

Yeah its best we leave that out...... The best part was he sold the truck new and traded back for it. He called at 11 at night and said if I didn't take this truck he was done looking for me one.

Man I wish I was that lucky I got to drive a Mega Cab Dually for a day while my truck got a spray in but that was it, other than that everything else has been held together by chewing gum and paper clips.
