Fuel Heater
Fuel Heater
I have a 98 Dodge 12 valve and the fuel temp sensor on top of the fuel heater burnt to a crisp along with about 6 inches of wire before the fuse let go. Dodge tells me I must purchase a complete engine wire harness to repair this unit yet FleetGuard sells fuel heater harness seperate. Now to my question, FleetGuard claims to have a heater element for this heater at a cost of $44 + vs Dodge price of $275 for the whole heater. Has anyone had any experience with just the element and its replacement??
Thanks

The pins on the element are leaking air into the system. The element is easy to change. There's one nut holding it on. You'll see it when you take out the screen. You can wrap electrical tape tightly around the element over where the connector plugs in to stop the leak. I drove around like this for a couple of weeks waiting for parts.
