2001 ram 2500 diesel
i own a 2001 ram 2500 diesel it ran great 2 days ago i parked it on a hill with front end up . now it turns over fine but will not start it has about 3/4 tank fuel any suggestions?
Sounds like a pinhole in your fuel system somewhere. I have read it a few times before. Turn your key on the accessory position, leave it there for about 30 seconds. You should hear a buzzing from up in the engine compartment. Do this three times, then turn try to start her.
With a tiny hole up high in the fuel lines it is possible to leak air in, but not see any fuel leaking out (or very little).
Do one more thing, cycle your key (on, off, on off, on) not start, but on. Codes, if any will display in the odometer window followed by "P-Done".

You might have gotten air in the fuel lines. Bump the starter to get the lift pump to run for 25 sec. Then crack open three of the injector lines at the block. Crank the motor over and see if you have fuel flowing at the open injector lines. If you have fuel close the lines and try to start, but do not crank for more than twenty seconds, could damage starter.

Just kidding.
I had 90,000 miles on my 2001 2500 series and while I was pulling away from a traffic light it stalled. The engine would crank over, but would not start. No fuel was going into the head, I found this out by taking one of the fuel lines off, then having someone crank it over. Turn out that the vp-44 lift pump went. It was much cheaper to have a rebuilt one then going to Dodge to have a new one ordered. It now runs fine. I heard that this is a common problem around the 90,000 miles. If you need a rebulit one, there is a cummings shop in Orlando that has them. Awesome service. Southeast Power Systems.
