Fuel filter

Question Fuel filter

Just finished changing fuel filter 94, 5.9 turbo tried starting no go
What have I done now.
Tried bleed valve have fuel to filter cranks over ok but no kick.
last time I changed filter started without a problem any suggestions?

There should be a blead screw on top of the filter housing. 10mm I think. Crack than and pump the prime button. Once you get fuel you can close it. Should be good to go.

Open one or two of the injector lines ad have someone crank the engine. Be careful of the high pressure of the fuel.

Most likely air in the syst. I usually open the bleeder on top of the filter then crack the fitting on the outlet of the pump and hand pump until solid fuel comes out of both places and try to start, if really air locked you have to crack the hi press lines and crank until solid fuel comes out. If no fuel comes out there check the shutdown sol. If it still does not start, you may have a transfer pump gone bad. I had a one way check valve go bad on mine causing a no start. Good luck

Remember and recheck the filter drain/water in fuel valve (o-ring seat) if you are having a problem with air getting into the system. I read where this was a problem for another owner.

hold it to the floor and crank it 20 seconds at a time allowing a few minutes between cranks.I have ran mine out of fuel a few times ,no guage,and it works everytime for me.
