Fuel Filter

Fuel Filter

i have a 03 3500 diesel.... how do i change the fuel filter ?...i can't remove the filter cover cup..
i take any help

do you mean you can't turn the cover off or once the cover is unthreaded you can't pull the lid up?
once you unthread the cap it is a bit tough to pull the cap up...just pull straight up as the filter is attached to the cap....
if you can't turn the cap, try using a socket or a larger cresent wrench. just make sure whichever you use, they fit the cap perfectly so you don't round off the edges. the cap shouldn't be real hard to take off unless it was crossthreaded when replaced before.
if that were the case though, you would have had other problems too.

Yeah don't just use a 1/2" extension and ratchet either, you can break the cap....I know from experience if you know what I mean

I just got the 1 1/8" socket that fits a 3/8" rachet in the mail yesterday from Genos. I just changed my filter last weekend so it will be a little while before I play with the new tool.
