Fuel drip...

I just fueled my truck up yesterday and topped it off up into the filler neck (good or bad thing, Im not sure) and drove it about 10 miles home.. My gf is telling me now that their is diesel fuel dripping from the truck..

I am guessing that with the temperature being 77 today, truck is in the full sun, and the truck being very full it has built up some pressure and leaking someplace.. the driveway is also on a slight incline as well..

Is this because I filled it up to much or is this some other problem?? Where could it be leaking?

thanks..

Re:Fuel drip...

You really need to crawl under it and see where it's dripping from. If it's near the fuel tank it may be a bad seal on the sending unit hole. It has an o-ring there. Could be a cracked rubber hose, either in the line going to the fuel pump, or the filler neck lines.

Chris

Re:Fuel drip...

You may have overfilled it. First, check to see where it is coming from. If it's coming from by the tank, drive a little while and empty some of the fuel out.

Re:Fuel drip...

The 92 I had did this everytime I topped it off in the summer. I guess it had a overflow tube on the filler neck and I filled it up enough to where it would always leak a little bit.
