Front Sway Bar Bushing Removal

'99, 2500, 4x4, HD, front sway bar.

I have managed to get the top nut and bushing off, but the lower is a booger. The link is "L" shaped, with the bottom turning 90* into a bracket that's welded to the frame. There is a smooth space before the threads that goes into the bracket. Do you get it out of the welded bracket by beating the tar out of it? Or, do you need a press to get the old one out and the new one in?

(1) Raise and support the vehicle.
(2) Hold the stabilizer link shafts with a wrench
and remove the link nuts at the stabilizer bar.
(3) Remove the retainers and grommets from the
stabilizer bar links.
(4) Remove the stabilizer bar link nuts from the
axle brackets.
(5) Remove the links from the axle brackets with
Puller C-3894-A (Fig. 18).
(6) Remove the stabilizer bar clamps from the
frame rails and remove the stabilizer bar.

Is this what you needed

Hope it helps

Great find!

Now all I have to do is learn to speak "Automotive Tech" and spend a few thousand $$$ for tools.
