front end problem
ive got the 97 2500 in my sig. my problem is when im going about 35 or 40 mph and hit a bump, it starts shaking violenty. ive had somebody watch while this happened and they said it looked like the front passengers side wheel was about to fall off. well, took it in and had the hub bearing assembly replaced and new upper and lower ball joints. get it back and its still doing it. i heard from someone that it might be the track bar, but i dont see how that would cause the wheel to wobble like its about to fall off. when i slow down and turn the wheel, it smoothes out. if i keep it under about 30, it wont do it. anybody have any suggestions because this is getting to be annoying.

I'd say its the locating bar running accross the front of the axle, they are expensive, and it would look worse on the passenger side cause' of the geometry of the thing get a prybar and see if you can get that front axle to move side to side er something,I'd bet that's it.

Get an after market trackbar replacement, crank in all the caster you can , the more the better, check the driver side ball joints by jacking up the truck brab the top of the tire and rock it back and forth. Search the archives lots of info and the caster seems to be the key.

have a friend climb in the drivers seat then have them move the steering wheel back and forth if ANY movement is seen on the rod ends then the tie rod ends are bad too.
BTW the Luke's link will replace ANY tie rod end on your truck, they are a great money saver.
