first problem with 97 dodge
just today my 97 dodge diesel 12 valve became hard to start (unless throttle is applied) and when in gear at idle either drive or reverse any quick throttle blip and the engine falls on its face. it won't stall in neutral or park or if the truck has momentem. but strangely when running it idles fine and seems to have all the power its ever had. any help would be great!

P.S. my cummins dealer said it could be my lift (transfer) pump

What's your idle set at? Sounds like it might have slipped a bit and is too low. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? I'd start with the easy stuff before blaming a lift pump.
