Exclamation Electric Brake Controller Wiring???

I'm in the middle of installing my electric brake controller on my Dodge. The truck came without the tow package, but I installed my own. I am having trouble locating the electric brake wire at the back of the truck. The only extra wire back there that drops out of the loom is a small 24 AWG White w/ brown trace. Not big enough and does not ring through when I use a wire tracer from the controller pigtail. I can trace it up to the trailer relay under the hood, but that's as far as I get even with the ign. on and the brake depressed. Does my wiring harness lack this wire since it was built without tow package? If so, then my only option is to run my own brake wire to the back. Any help would be great.

Yes it lacks the wire. The other end should be loose behind the front fender you can patch to it there, but I like buying the harness from the dealership best and they can tell you how to install it. Some guys here say they bought it for less than the option package cost.
