I was for a couple days when the temps were in the 20's for the lows at night.
Dropped to -15 last night and now im starting the whole excersize over again
I even added some electric heat tape to the filter and water seperator to keep it warm through the night. Kept them warm but still having problems. Im thinking its the fuel lines. The truck will start and run for a few minutes...... and its run enough this morning that its blowing warm air from the heater, but its still starving for fuel.

Seems if i can get it runnning long enough to get on the road for 10 minutes or so, its fine the rest of the day.
Just when it sits all night.
I wish i had a short bed so i could fit it in the heated garage.

I'm also starting to think you just got some bad fuel and still have a bunch of it in there. if this was all weather related, Dodge would never sell another one of these trucks again and they'd be parked all over the northern states right now. plus you've got so much gook in there, it's a wonder it'll even run at all. I would suggest now that you empty your fuel system completely and starting over. I know that a big deal but sometimes it's best to stop and take it from the top again.

Are you using anti-gel additive?
I've been using Power Service with straight #2 diesel for over 40 years and have never had a gel up down to -40°F

Yeah, i started this one to see if this was common to the airdog or not.
I did get it going again today and found 50/50 fuel so i filled up wit 25 gallons of that. we'll see if that holds up to +5* tonight

I've never had a problem with my fuel gelling up but about a month ago one of the local fuel stations had their diesel mis-priced....2.25 instead of 3.25!!!! I jumped all over that deal . That was a mistake. I think they left the tanks exposed to all of the rain we had....soon as the cold weather hit I started having problems. I could turn the key on and hardly even hear the pump running. Once the truck was running my fuel pressure never got above 10psi. even after running it a while. Crawled under and opened up the water seperator and nothing came out. Jiggled the thingamabob around and heard ice crunching around and then finally some fuel started trickling out of it. Turned key back on and immediately had 18psi on the needle. 2 1/2 weeks later I'm still fighting frozen water in my filters.

I guess long story short....sounds like we both got crappy fuel. Head to a station with a known high turn over rate and get some good fuel and let the system work the garbage out and you should be good to go.

In Illinois about half the fuel here have the stickers saying 5-25% biodiesel. In the winter I stay away from them. In the summer I use the biodiesel sparingly. I haven't used any additives and the truck has been fine in the -XX *F temperatures , even overnight.

I guess once you get a bad tank it takes a while to get the gunk out in the winter.Yuck

You have water in your fuel, it is in your filters and every where else. We haven't even mentioned the damage it can do to your Injectors at this point...but it is a really big concern.

Bottom line is you will continue to have problems until you get rid of all that bad fuel, this is why you NEVER buy fuel from a 7/11 but ALWAYS from a place that sells a LOT of fuel.

And never fuel up at a station when the tanker truck is there filling the tanks or just leaving.
The high volume filling the underground tanks stirs up any water or deposits at the bottom of their tank and it ends up in yours.
