Crank no start.

Bought a 03 2WD Cummins 5.9 CR for my little brother from the company I work for however it’s currently in a no start state.

I’ve removed fuel lines from the lift pump - good pres/flow,

I’ve checked the relief valve and tried blocking said valve,

I’ve then moved onto checking the injection pump @ rail pressure and while cranking I see 0psi on a mechanical gauge installed to the relief location. (This test was tried before and after unplugging the FCA. No change in pressure reading).

so my question is it seems odd that I see 0psi, I’d understand 400psi ok weak pump but 0psi seems odd to me. Is there a key way that could have sheared off of the injection pump shaft? Or is 0psi a common thing and I should just replace the CP3.

thanks in advance,
brandon.

I’ve yet to dig into the injector return lines, even with leaky injectors I believe I should still see SOMETHING in pressure.

I am having the same problem. My 2000 2500 will start, get me where I am going but won't start again for an hour. I am not a dodge guy. I bought this used with 70,000 miles on it. If the mechanic can't figure it out, I'M SELLING THE POS AND GOING BACK TO FORD!!!!!
