You can test the the TPS with a mulitimeter to make sure its making contact throughout its stroke.

If I remember correctly its between the middle and outer contacts of the plug. One the resistance increase as you turn the TPS and the other side the resistance decreases.

I personally think you have a few dead spots in the TPS and in which case all the adjustment in the world isnt going to help.

If at any point while testing it the meter shows infinite resistance then you will have problems for sure.
