Changing Tranny filter...
Changing Tranny filter...
I got a new filter for my tranny to see if that would help anything....just got done taking it apart and theres an arm in there beside the filer on the passenger side...and it appears to have sum play in it...there seems to be an adjustment to take that out, but can anyone tell me if thats supposed to have play in it???? or should i try to tightin it up before i put it back together??????
If the tranny is shifting OK, I wouldn't mess with the settings.
If it's NOT, use these instructions and an INCH Pound torque wrench to adjust the bands.

arm towards rear is reverse apply lever. To adjust go in 72" lbs, then back out 3 turns. If you dont have an inch lb torque wrench leave it alone. Arm in front is the front band(2nd gear). The front one i would adjust while your in there,it should have 1/4" of play,(use a 1/4" allen to check it).The adjuster is on drivers side if trans case, you need a 3/4" wrench ,and a T30 Torx.
I found quite a few metal shavings and one peice of broken metal about an inch long...so there are deffinatly sum issues with it...i didnt have a torque wrench so i left those adjustments alone and put it back together
i'm just locating all my parts i need to put in the manual and im gonna keep driving it like it is till i have everything then switch it out...once its out i might see if its not sumthing too major ill fix and sell it...or just sell it as is...
