yOu will have to hold bleed valve in injection pump, and have someone bump the starter so that electric pump runs for its 25 seconds, than once air quits coming out of valve you will have to crack #1 and #3 injector lins on valve cover and have someone spin engine over. Once it starts running tighten up injector lines. Should be alright. Have done this a lot lately.

crack a couple injector lines and bump it over...is there any fuel then?
do you have fuel pressure gauge?
my 01 would not start after a filter change it ended up being a bad lift pump.
you may have just run it dry and now it needs a prime.

I haven't looked at an '01 but is there a bleed screw on the top of the filter housing? If so, crack it open and bump it until you get fuel then shut it tight. Should be good to go. If notcan you crack open the outlet line for the same effect?

by crack open do you mean loosen or pull from the valve cover?

Just crack open a couple of turns, the bleed valve is the one that should have a plastic cap on it. It is on the side of the injection pump on line that comes from filter. Remove cap and poke a small nail or soemthing into valve to let air out, similar to tire valve.

ok... i pulled 1&3 out of the valve cover... some fuel came out but it was nothing spectacular like i thought it would be... maybe also because im on a small incline its making this more of a process... So... bleed the valve while truning it over?

I just finished changing my fuel filter too. (Needle jumpy, pulling down to 8 psi at WOT)
Bumped the starter to cycle the LP 4 times.
Started and died.
Cranked it over for about 30 seconds.
Waited about 20 seconds.
Cranked it over for about 30 seconds and she fired up.

Does about the same scenario every time I change it.

BTW: solid 15 PSI at idle, and only pulling down to 10 PSI now.

Let 'er crank for about 30 seconds, then let the starter cool for about 20 seconds.
