Cant get Silver 62 Mounted

I broke the first oil drain tube, and am about to break the next one too. If I mount the turbo, you can't get to the drain tube bolts. If you mount the drain tube first and put the drain tube into the block, you can't get the turbo cocked enough to get onto the exhaust bolts? What the

NOT TO MENTION IT'S RAINING LIKE CATS AND DOGS???

Someone please give me some hints on getting this **** thing on here????

You will have to mount it to the turbo, put the turbo on, and then play with it in order to get the tube into the hole in the block. Mine was a real pain too because the newer trucks don't use the rubber hose anymore. It's a semi-flexible metal tube with a couple of o-rings on the end that goes into the block. Once the turbo is on you will have to try to bend the tube at the right angle, put some oil on the o-rings, and try to work it into the hole. I was hanging on to mine with all my weight while I tried to get it in there. The first o-ring goes in fairly easy. The second one is the one that will give you problems....

Yah, I was hanging on the first one, thats how I broke it.. ... I finally got it seated in the hole, but one side keeps pulling up...... I didn't want to break this one too, so I just went and got some JB weld putty, and sealed that puppy up.... FOR GOOD. I don't think it will be going anywhere or getting any water in it...... JB weld and duct tape are my best friends.

I hear ya. It's a pain but if you get the angle just right it will slide on in. Keep an eye on it ......

I'd cut the drain tube in half and re-connect it w/ a length of rubber hose and some hose clamps. that's what I did on my 2nd gen. I realize your drain tubes are flexible, but it'll still work. I've done it on 2.3t fords w/ flex drains.

enjoy!
