I was out plowing last night and i heard a groaning noise and looked under the truck and saw both p/s hoses were fine but the steering box was not so lucky it was leaking out the bottom where the pittman arm connects, my question is it possible to replace the seal, what is the likely hood a pepboys/autozeon etc will have a box in stock, or whats the likley hood a local dealer will have one in stock.

If you don't like the dealer price, try a junkyard, you might get a low miles which is much better than a rebuilt one from any AutoParts store.

 

I wouldnt try to replace the seal cause the shaft is already worn if its leaking. Just put another box in it...

 

Install one of these or it will happen again and again especially with a plow
