Broke truck in Bastrop, Texas

Got the truck out of the shop last week. Runs and looks good. Headed out to this wonderful place just east of Austin with about 1600 lbs of shooting stuff in the back.
Fueled outside of Waco when level reached 1/4.
East of Austin, Hwy 71 East, lost power. Released accelerator pedal and everything back to normal.
Did it again about 5 miles later.
No indications of any type, other than the power loss when you press the go pedal. Press to floor or release and press, all back to normal.
PCU codes P1492, P1693
ECU codes P0216, P1693
No lights lit or weird indications other than codes when "self test" is run.
Not real sure about the dealer here, will be looking over shoulder.
If anyone's in the area, ring me at the Holiday Inn in Bastrop, 512-321-1900 room 318.
If you come by, bring beer. I'm down to a 2 day supply.

Darn, Bruce... If for nothing more than having to remove all that shootin' gear!

Wish I could help, but I've had my fill of flying to/driving from TX for a few months.

Just to add a bit more info.
No smoke during the loss of pedal situation.
Engine temp running 185-190.
Did a scan prior to leaving and the 1693 and 1492 didn't show up on the scanner.
Did a battery disconnect to clear and the 1693 showed up later with the 1492 coming in after a couple hundred miles down the road.
All guages operated normally the entire time.
No idiot lights.

The P0216 code is the dying vp44 code. Sorry about that man.

Bruce,

I hate to hear about your troubles....When it rains it pours, but I don't have to tell an old soldier like you that

Sounds to me like a fueling issue as well, those durn electric lift pumps have caused more injection pump failures than Kerry has waffles

Wish I could add some encouraging words of wisdom......Try calling the local beer store, some places still deliver if you buy enough of it

Good Luck with the truck!

Just replenished the beer. Should be good for another day.
Typical hurry up and wait routine around here.
Still got transportation, except it ain't Clifford.
Oh well, Sierra Hotel.

At least you're at your destination instead of 1/2 way between a rock and a hard place in the middle of the night and it's raining......

And It's covered by warranty.

Had a bit of a chat with them this afternoon. While not showing my backside, much, I think I got the point across that I was leaving out Sunday/Monday with my truck, even if it was utilizing one of theirs to tow it back to Little Rock. Further explained that it doesn't take that long to do fuel pressure checks, wiring harness checks, and plug it into their "machine". Called my dealer back home and they are in contact with them.
Guess the next project will be a set of guages, including one for blood pressure.
On a good note; the water in the pool is great, beer is cold, and the "sweet taters" by the pool look as nice as they do in Arkansas. Got another pool side conference in about 30 minutes. These meeting are killing me.

Lift pump was fine. Pressure 11 psi @ WOT. Volume at the high end of the specs. All that was replaced was the pump assembly. The electronics went south.
