Brake And ABS Lights On

I have Brake and ABS lights on all the time when I start the truck. They both come on and stay on even if the truck is in park.

I have checked the ABS fuses and I have replaced the vehicle speed sensor in the rear end.

Im not sure what else it could be.

I had code p0500 before I replaced the speed sensor (in the rear) but now its not showing up. The BRAKE and ABS lights are still on.

Mine went on when the caliper was pushed out too far, the pad was shot and cutting into the rotor, but i couldnt hear it. I would do an inspection of the wearing parts.

this might be a dumb question but do you take the wheels off when you pressure wash them?

And last but not least check all fuses. On my 97 4x4 after doing all you did found that there was a second fuse in the circuit tht was blown, replaced it and all ws well, cause was a short in my trailer wiring that kept blowing the fuse.

All good advice if you have 4 wheel ABS. The next thing to replace is the stoplight switch. They run about $13.00 at Auto Zone.

you have now set a "hard code" on the truck it will stay on...first try and d/c the batteries for 30 min and reconnect...otherwise u need to have it cleared by the dealer...or in the older trucks the code gets cleared after 60 start cycles

i disconnected the battery yesterday for 5 hours (had some stuff to do).
i went back out there and connected it and it came on immediately

anyone know where the abs sensors are on the wheels?

what would cause it to come on immediately like that before the wheels even started to turn?
