Brake And ABS Lights On
Brake And ABS Lights On
I have Brake and ABS lights on all the time when I start the truck. They both come on and stay on even if the truck is in park.
I have checked the ABS fuses and I have replaced the vehicle speed sensor in the rear end.
Im not sure what else it could be.
I had code p0500 before I replaced the speed sensor (in the rear) but now its not showing up. The BRAKE and ABS lights are still on.

this might be a dumb question but do you take the wheels off when you pressure wash them?
And last but not least check all fuses. On my 97 4x4 after doing all you did found that there was a second fuse in the circuit tht was blown, replaced it and all ws well, cause was a short in my trailer wiring that kept blowing the fuse.

you have now set a "hard code" on the truck it will stay on...first try and d/c the batteries for 30 min and reconnect...otherwise u need to have it cleared by the dealer...or in the older trucks the code gets cleared after 60 start cycles
I couldnt find the ABS sensor. Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like? or a pic of where its located?
My truck is a 2wd and I have drum brakes in the rear (disk up front)

i went back out there and connected it and it came on immediately
anyone know where the abs sensors are on the wheels?
what would cause it to come on immediately like that before the wheels even started to turn?
i just lost my front wheel bearing and my abs and brake light came on, did u check the play in wheels, as soon as those 2 lights came on my truck started shaking really bad. took the wheel off along with the caliper, caliper mounting bracket and rotor and i had grease dripping out the bearing.
