ball joints problem

its 630pm and i am trying to replace my lower ball joints. my goal was to get one side today and the other tomorrow. Now i have 3 broken 1/2" drive ratches and a breaker bar. i cannot get this lower ball joint pressed out. I am about to run to sears real quick and pick up some 3/4" tools. is there something i am missing.

Yes the retainer ring is out and i am pressing the joint out from the top to the bottom.

just did my 95 awhile ago, needed a little heat for the lowers to come out. just heated up a small portion to maybe 450* (used a propane torch with map gas) they came out then. before i warmed it up it was a no go
