Bad Injector

I need some advice or information on replacing my fuel injector(s) in my 03 Ram. I had three injectors replaced under warranty (3, 4, & 5). I now have a fourth injector going bad, but my truck is out of warranty. Here is what I’ve learned in a short time, local dealer price is $580 plus core, $800 installed. moparstore.com has injectors for $450 ea no core. I talked to atsdiesel.com , they sale Cyclone Injector nozzles, $199 plus $90 core for +50 HP injectors but they said replacing the nozzle will not fix the loss of pressure/hard start condition.

My question is do I buy one stock injector now and keep wondering when my truck will leave me walking. Is there a test to find the bad injector? Or, buy the 3 that weren’t replaced by the dealer and hope they last longer than the originals? Or, are there aftermarket injectors that are better than the junk stock?

new injectors

Got three new injectors from Cummins (Thanks Dwitt0187) and installed them today, I started to replace them after work on Thursday but figured out this is not an after work job. The truck is starting and running perfect now.

I know you got it fixed and all....but when I went through that (I had to replace all 6, no warranty) I was told the same "aftermarket wont fix the problem" line. if you have any problems in the future (I really hope you dont), it WILL fix the problem as long as the place you are getting the nozzles from are able to do work on the bodies* as well (F1 diesel for instance).

all the shops I talked to here, dodge and independant, told me the same thing, I need cummins injectors and it would cost 5 grand for parts and labor.

I paid 1,880 and installed myself and am loving life. so if anything, pass all that on to any friends who might be going through an injector issue, dont want our friends wasting money do we?

*i should say that if the bodies are cracked, then they will have to replace that. but the internals are totally serviceable.

At apprx. what mileage did these injectors go bad?

What are the tell tail signs of a bad injector (on say a '03 Ram 2500 5.9L)?
