apps recalibration
apps recalibration
I am trying to recalibrate my apps. I know that I should have .58 volts out of the apps supply voltage wire( #5 on the apps connector). I found the blue and white wire at the ecm and have 0 volts with the ignition on. Does anyone know if it is possible that I have no voltage there because the apps is so far out. The truck still runs but it has no pulling power and a dead pedal.

are there any writeups on this whole adjustment? i know about turning on the ignition, depressing the pedal, letting it up slowly, turning off the ignition and then starting the truck, but it sounds like you can calibrate them with a voltmeter or ohmmeter. any writeups with values? thanks...sorry to hi-jack the thread.

code check
bill have you done the key on off thing yet.if you turn the ignition on three times without every startig the truck it will check for codes and if you look at the odometer it should say "p done" if it shows a 1693 code before that ,it means there is a code in there that you can read or get read to tell you what is wrong. Mine is on the way to the shop now with a 121 code which is apps problem. I lost the throttle on the freeway today in 90 degree temp outside had to reboot the apps to get home. apps is dealer only about 350-400 bucks.Hope this helps.
If you have less than 5 volts on Terminal 5, the dark blue/white wire, at the APPS connector to engine ground, the next place to look is the ECM terminal block IF YOU HAVE NO ERROR CODES. Look for corrosion or a bent pin, and if none is evident have your ECM checked.
If you have error codes, follow them first as a dead or dirty CKP sensor or a failed VP44 will also give a zero reading on Terminal 5.

thanks for your help this I was actually checking the wrong wire. There are three connectors going into the ecm on the passengers side of the fire wall. The one closest to motor , wire #23 is the one that I needed. When I checked it I only had 4.47 volts by turning it I could only get 5 volts. Looks like I need a new apps
