I am 46 miles from there and have a place. I guess it all depends on which direction you will be coming from.

Copenhagenjunkie: that would work out perfect as when i would come back for it i would be coming from the East on I-80. do u live in town or in the country?? do u have a big shed to keep it locked up or would it be ok outside that no one would monkey with it??

can i get your address and name and phone #?? i wouldn't be able to bring it until like tuesday morning sometime when my other truck gets here. would u happen to have a trailer or know someone that does that we could use to get it there to your place??

also MARK 53 ****** thanks for the offer. your a little too far in the wrong direction. but i really appreciate the offer. its nice to know other guys on here are willing to help out.

thanks,
joe

yea J BODY its always nice to know someone somwere when ya break down. hopefully u won't have problems like i did when i came through.

in Laramie, WY my motor blew up in my one dodge. so then i went to a dealer and bought a new dodge which was supposed to have a brand new ATS tranny in it with only 20 - 30,000 miles on it.

well i only got about 400 miles with it and that tranny went out. so i have been strainded twice in the last week and have been stuck here in UT for 3 nights now.

what a week.

and only 3 weeks ago the AUTO trans went out in my other 97 dodge.

i will say to everyone don't get a dodge AUTOMATIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

J, you have helped me plenty of times on here and the least I could do is help you out if you ever need it. Just say when. I'm glad to be on your 911 list.

hopefully my trip does good better. if i keep this dually i just got i am going to put an allison in it. and also thats what is going in my other 97 auto. but as soon as i get back to Iowa i am going to the dodge dealer and putting in an order for a 07 mega cab 6 speed man truck.

i am trying to figure out if i should go after the dealer on the truck. they told me the truck ran perfect and no problems. if u look at my post in the performance section u will see the problems i was having. and also i just noticed that the throttle cable was broken at the gas pedal and it was held from going through the gas pedal by a pair of vise grips. and its having major electrical problems. and also the rear tires were flat as could be.

well i meant the tires were bold as could be. i talked to the dealer but they were like well u bought it as is and thats it. they said they'll give me $150.00 back and that was it. but on the ebay ad they said the tranny ran good and shifted fine but dodge trannys were known to go out. so right there they were acknowledging they knew something was wrong with it or could be wrong with.

all i know as soon as i get back to Iowa i am going to talk with a laywer.

yea i only got 7 miles from the dealer when the tack and volts gauge and trans and all that started acting up.

Tach and volt gauge issue is most likely the engine speed sensor (some refer to it as a "crank sensor") which is mounted right up front. Look for wire chafing and if ok, a sensor is probably in order.

.....sorry but I LOVE my automatic trans......and if you keep yours, and since you are in Iowa, give Dave Goerend a call.

hey J BODY

J BODY

i was on the phone yesterday with DAVE. he has my other 97 dodge there at his shop. hes putting a new trans in that truck as the insurance company is paying for that one. its only going in for like 2 monthes then the allison is going in. i was talking to dave about that and then also about putting an allison in this truck and what was wrong with the trans in this truck.

yes they are good at what they do.
