Anyone have .02Cents to throw in??

Well, I have been without truck since Thanksgiving weekend. Truck started acting really strange on way back from deer lease in that it started shutting down electrical draw components. Got home and next day it would not even start. Pulled codes and had a plethora of codes and would not start. had truck wreckered to a local diesel shop, with very capable mechanics and they started in on it. It seems as though the ECM had lost half of its memory and could not be re-flashed to create a full memory. The PCM was acting similarly so a new ECM was ordered. Truck now still does not run. I had no erratic activity on any gauges except that the voltmeter showed discharge at 1600 rpm and full charge at 2000 rpm. The truck acted like it was in limp mode the last 30 miles I drove it (could barely maintain 55mph on hiway). Mechanics brought in a couple of Cummins techs from a nearby dealership and all have said that they have never experienced a truck that has experienced symptoms that mine displays. Anyone have any similar problems or can interject any common experiences??

Hopefully they can get it to run so I can go trade it in on a new 07 or 08....

Anyone have anything I should look out for in either of these year models?? LOLOL CRY!!!!!

Gary

I have an 06 so do not know anything on your 02 but this thread sounds like your truck. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ad.php?t=81936 This sounds close to your problem but wiring may be close to yours. There is a picture of it on page 4 (post #59). (This might be worth less than 0.02) .

Thanks for the replies. I just spoke to my mechanic and he says he went over the entire wiring system looking for possible shorts. He said he is aware of the a/c wiring problem and assures me mine is ok. He finally linked the problem to the ecu and is waiting to get the new one flashed at Dodge. He even went as far as removing the dash to check all of the wiring. I wonder if it is time to trade the old girl in when I get her back, or if I should give her another chance. So far this year I have dropped 2400 on a new injection/lift pump and now this..... I guess I made a years worth of payments in these repairs....... New truck smell would be nice again...lolol
