Air Bag Sensor

I changed my right front fender today, didn't expect it to be welded to inner fender.
Oh well, drilled the spot welds, broke it free w/ putty knife then rebonded w/ screws and 100% urethane construction adhesive.

While reassembling the whole mess I noticed the little black box that sits forward and down from the battery.
Then I noticed the arrow on it. Looks like the air bag sensor.
Then I remembered tossing it into my parts bucket while disassembling.
Toss = crash to a flying sensor.
Then I wondered if the air bag switch is a momentary switch that resets or 1 time and toss switch.
Hmmm...I left it disconnected.

Does anybody know if this sensor resets or how to test it? Continuity?

Thanks

About all I can tell you is it's common practice to replace the sensor after a airbag deployment. It takes three inputs for the bag to deploy, if the sensor you dropped is damaged it won't deploy just by hooking it back up, problem is it probably won't deploy in a wreck either. With it unhooked or damaged I would think your airbag light will stay on.
Personally I would hook it back up, the bag won't deploy instantly or anything, if the light stays out everything is fine.

Thanks Bill.
I'll plug it back in and enjoy my new fender.
Soon I will install my fuel pressure gauge.
Thanks again.
