AFC break off screw

Hey, When popping the breakoff screw off what's the best method? I'm trying to adjust the AFC spring. Just shear it off and use vice grips to remove the remaining stud and replace with a regular screw?

Re:AFC break off screw

I have seen many methods to do this. How I did mine was get a good sharp chisel and walk it out enough so that you can turn it by hand or with a pair of long needle nose pliers.
If you do decide to just break it off, be careful not to break the AFC housing, it's aluminum. But it can be done.

A small sharp chisel works every time. So does a torx driven into the center of the break off screw.
John

Yep, I advise a torx and a hand impact tool...costs about $10 at NAPA, etc.
george
