Accelerating From Stop, Truck Died

Folks - It's Sunday night and the truck was bringing me down the road in need of resting my bones. I have about 145k miles on the truck and have never had any fuel concerns other than the LP, which was replaced with the FASS. Anyway, I actually stopped at a stop sign and accelerated - out of nowhere it was like the switch was flipped and the diesel engine stopped. I have all electrical functions and a signal to the pump (just a test light, no volt meter on toolbox) but all she'll do is crank - every now and then a subtle hint of a start appears, but nothing. BTW, no check engine lamp is illuminated. Fuel pressue is at 22PSI (or better)! Is my gut feeling that the IP went to rest sound like I am on the right track? If so, what have you folks seen/heard/had the best results with replacements? Appreciate Any Help or Suggestions, Thanks

As far as I know, your best price is Midwest Fuel Injection. They have a banner ad running on the forums. $1050 shipped I believe.

Limited Research Time - had to get moving and get a VP44 ordered, decided to try the Special X VP44 Upgraded/Rebuilt Blue Chip Injection Pump - should be here on Wednesday. I'll drop a line back and let folks know how well the project goes. Thanks for the help.

Super X VP44 - WOW

I just finished the install of the super x from Blue Chip (old vp44 rotor siezed earlier in the week) followed directions and took about 4.5 hours. Very smooth install following their instructions, no issues except for 30-minutes bleeding the system using the FASS and bump key trick. I only have 70 miles on it, but I am very impressed with the smooth power band and noticable off-line increase from even when the truck was new. My only recommendation would be to replace tappet covers and gaskets while you have the IP off (Tappet Cover Gasket Cummins part# 3907617 for the gasket, 3900267 for the grommets), as it will save removing everything again later. I'll post a MPG @ a later date, but on power it smoothed out the 40 MPH flat spot I had forever.
